Company Profile
The business commenced trading as a successful haulage business in the 1940’s by the late Denis and Nora Healy. Together they won and completed large contracts along with transporting coal, fertiliser, salt, timber and grain from the cargo ships at Cork docks.
In the 1950’s, following a visit to cousins in America, who were operating a very successful Waste Management Company, they realised that there was an opening in the Irish market for such a service, and soon began trading as Waste Management Contractors. Denis Healy & Co Ltd trading as “Healys Blue Bin” was incorporated in 1974. The company still trades under the “Healy’s Blue Bin” logo.
Aidan took over the running of the business in the early 1980’s following the death of his father Denis. Aidan has built an extremely successful business which will be carried on by the next generation to be a prominent business in the waste management and recycling trade for at least another 50 years.
